What to know about being on PANA’s Board
Join the Board and make a difference!
The PANA Board of Directors will hold its annual re-elections in October, and we invite you to consider running for a leadership position in the organization.
Below you’ll find an FAQ as well as a recording of an informational webinar that’s more of a deep-dive into Board structures and workings.
You may have a few questions…
Am I a good fit for the Board?
If you are a motivated leader who likes that PANA:
- Advocates for the human voice
- Provides educational offerings, and
- Creates community and social opportunities
We’d love to have you on the team! We also put together a Board Job Description we’d recommend perusing:
What’s the time-commitment?
The board and the various board committees meet as a group once a month. The overall time commitment is about 6 hours a month, depending on how involved you would like to be.
Are there particular positions available or skills that I would need?
We have 9 vacant board seats with 6 returning members from our 2023-2024 Board.
Here’s the Basic Board Breakdown:
- 2 Co-Chairs
- Vice-Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- 10 Board Members-at-large
Positions are officially chosen at the first meeting of the new board, so you aren’t running for any particular position just yet.
Skill-wise, this year we appeal to members that have experience in:
- Organizational development
- Sponsorship campaigns
- Programming and events
- Grant writing
- Previous board experience
The main requirement, however, is a desire to further PANA’s mission to support and elevate our diverse narrator community. If you have any questions, you can reach out to any of our board members or our Executive Director Maria.
