PANA supports SAG-AFTRA
An historic moment
On the morning of June 13, 2023, SAG-AFTRA’s National Board voted to issue a strike of the Producers–SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts of 2014, as amended by the 2017 and 2020 memoranda of agreement, effective July 14, at 3:01am ET / 12:01am PT.

PANA is in full support of this historic strike, marking the first time since 1960 that SAG-AFTRA and the WGA have been on strike concurrently. Now, more than ever, it is vital we stand in solidarity with our union siblings, not only because this a fight for the value of human artistry – one of PANA’s founding principles, but what affects one of our body’s limbs today, may affect another tomorrow.
SAG-AFTRA audiobook representatives, Jane Love and Richard Larkin, have made it clear that this strike does not affect union audiobook contracts, but if you are a SAG-AFTRA member, or hoping to become one, you may not cross the picket lines to work on any productions operating under union TV/Theatrical contracts without severe penalty. Learn more about the strike, including contracts under which you can and cannot work.
What happens here is important because what’s happening to us is happening across all fields of labor, when employers make … greed their priority and they forget about the essential contributors that make the machine run.
